News: Next Commission Meeting at the 113th ASA Annual Meeting in Philadelphia, PA August 2018

The Annual CAPACS Board Meeting will be held at the 113th Annual Meeting of the American Sociological Association in Philadelphia, PA from 6:30-10:30 pm, on Monday, August 13th, 2018, in Conference Room 103A, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center located at 1101 Arch Street ; Philadelphia, PA 19107 (Tel: 1-800-428-9000 or 1-215-418-4700; email info@paconvention.com, or use the Contact Us webpage on the Pennsylvania Convention Center website for your inquiries and special requests).  Please consult the ASA Meeting Services webpage for information on accessibility, special services, and tours, and the ASA Travel and Housing web page for information on lodging, travel (including international travel), airlines, rail services, and ground transportation in Philadelphia; and the “Map and Directions” web page of your preferred hotel for commuting options to and from the Philadelphia International Airport and other hubs.

ASA has confirmed table space for the Commission to display its informational materials at the 113th Annual Meeting (please see the attached pdf for the floorplan). CAPACS has been assigned to Table 3. The display area for the Commission's table is located in the ASA Exhibit Hall, Hall C, Level 200, in the Pennsylvania Convention Center (1101 Arch Street; Philadelphia, PA 19107; Tel: 1-800-428-9000 or 1-215-418-4700; email info@paconvention.com). The CAPACS display table will be in place by 11:00 am, on Saturday, August 11th, 2018. ASA Reminders:

  • Table attendants need to register for the meeting.
  • Please note that ASA is not responsible for setting up or monitoring your materials. However, there will be a security guard in place to cover the general area.
  • Please be mindful of your table space and keep your materials in your space only; as others also have materials to display as well.
  • If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact ASA personnel who will be staffing the ASA Meeting Information Desk in the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

Please use SignupGenius to enter times, in increments of one hour or more, on days and dates when you will be available to monitor the Commission's display table, and answer visitors' inquiries about CAPACS and its accreditation programs.
